Sam McFarland is a local tattoo artist with a degree in painting and a background in watercolor, acrylic, stained glass, fibers, and just about any other medium she can get her hands on. She has been a watercolorist for 37yrs and a tattoo artist for 20yrs. 

Animal Authors send her visions of a rich, otherworldly life full of drama and intrigue. The world of animal epic sagas, poetry, and short stories is resplendent in color and full of intense action. They are wavering within bits of the spectrum we cannot see, perceptions and interactions we cannot fully understand and in a mythos obscured by the cloud of our form of consciousness. Sam takes these pure expressions and creates book covers for words we will never read, lifetimes we cannot fully explore, and a world which is part of yet separate from our own. She wants to bridge the gap with imagery to give you a taste of the inner life of the outside. She hopes that perhaps this appreciation will lead to a greater respect for life in its many forms and the idea that all living beings have stories to tell worthy of our attention and protection.
