While researching creatures to paint a friend suggested the Axolotl. The very first piece of information that came up in a search was the fact that you can cut one of their legs off 100 times and it will still grow back. I was beside myself that this information about this beautiful little creature exists. WHO did this to one to find out? WHY would anyone exhaust so much effort and cause any creature the pain of removing a limb over and over just to see if it grows back 100 times? I was ashamed to be part of the only group of animals that treats other living things this way simply out of curiousity.
